Welcome to Vintage Magazine
The magazine created with the mature you in mind!
Yes this is a picture from my big 70th birthday celebration. WOW!
And now at 71 I am sitting here writing the welcome to my magazine greeting you from the “poetic heart of God”.
Why VINTAGE? Because vintage means aged to perfection ,smart , iconic, smooth, warm, timeless, beautiful, strong, bold, sassy, classic, class, one of a kind, insurmountable, brave, adventurous, vibrant, stylish, divine, authentic, of recognizable substance, valued, enduring, important, flawless and open to interpretation. When I think about each of you mature women all these superlatives come to mind. The one word that encapsulates all of this is “VINTAGE”.
This magazine has been something that has been a part of my heart, my hopes and dreams for almost 30 years. I have found out the best way to do anything is to simply get started. Test the waters; see what you are all about. It will lead you to seek help, mentorship, face your fears and jump. So here we are. I hope you will be uplifted, encouraged, inspired and empowered by its contents. I hope it will help you believe in your greater self. I hope it will lead you to reconnect with those dreams you may have once thought were impossible. I hope it orders your steps so that you become all you have been created to be.
Though you have lived some valued years there are many more exciting and new things ahead for you. I want you to feel the urgency in your hands and its rhythm in your feet propelling you to declare each new day a day worth celebrating.
My favorite movie is the Godfather. There is a scene where Michael Corleone asks Rocco did he think something could be done? You know the Godfather; it was a hit on a very prominent politician. Rocco’s response was “difficult but not impossible”.
I have had a relationship with this phrase for some time now. Working on a lot of dreams I have held on to and prayed for many years and watched them come into fruition and thinking back on some things I felt were too difficult to even aim for. This year I‘ve gotten to realize it for sure because even though these things were difficult they were not impossible. Yes, I had to extend myself and put the work in sometimes more work than I expected., the setbacks, the frustration, the feelings of that will not work, the feeling as if you can’t talk to people but they just wouldn’t understand what’s going on your head. The extra, extra, extra. But all of it resulted in change, transformation, fearlessness, confidence and power and belief in one self. I am not sure if I have all this the way it should go at this point but one thing I do know for sure is something is calling me and I must answer!
Was it worth it, yes of course was. Even those things which were invisible stepped from out of hiding and tackled me. Though many times these things were filled with drama, hopelessness and doubt you find a way to rise, to greet the occasion and take it from the never side of the equation to the it is possible side. As my life coach says” if you can see it in your mind you can hold it in your hands”.
My “mature you” women. Here’s your magazine written and designed with just you in mind. It is designed to be a companion magazine. Let it rest on your night table or your coffee table. Keep it in your purse for a few minutes of quick inspiration. It can go where you go and inspire you along the way all day. Yes, car, train, bus or plane it is here for you.
Come with me on this journey as we style, profile, travel, laugh, love, and grow .Come with me as we embrace wellness mentally, socially, physically, emotionally, and financially. Come with me as we explore and enjoy just simply living our best lives. Here is where you will be reminded of just how awesome you are. Here you can refresh your spirit and drink of the waters of renewal and wholeness. Here is where you will come through shining at any age on any page or any stage. My mature you women each day we get up before the sun because we rise each day to slay. That’s what grown “azz” women do!
These are our glorious years of aging where we women of substance stand firm and behold our greatness, our value and our ability to still make a difference.
You still have time to set this world on fire! Hello Somebody!
